A sister
corporation to the Home is Good Shepherd-Fairview Foundation.
The Foundation provides financial support for the Home, coordinates
public relations and sponsors the development of programs which will
benefit older adults.
Good Shepherd-Fairview Foundation asks
the community for annual gifts to the Living Care Fund. This fund
assists the Home in providing for residents in the Adult Care Facility
who are unable to pay the full fees. Donors may also choose to
make a gift to the Foundation for other purposes through an outright
gift, a bequest or life income gift.
The Foundation funds scholarships for
students enrolled in medical curriculums at Binghamton University and
Broome Community College. In addition, a grant of up to $5000 is
awarded each year to a community organization as seed money for a new
program or the expansion of an existing program, which will enhance the
life of the elderly in Broome County.
The generosity of past donors has provided a legacy
for current residents. Support of the Foundation helps to ensure the future
of Good Shepherd-Fairview Home. All gifts to the Foundation are tax
deductible in accordance with each individual's own financial situation and
IRS regulations.
